The Historic Promise Land Community
The Promise Land Community in Charlotte, Tennessee was settled by African-Americans shortly after the Civil War.
Today, the only remnants of this once-thriving village are the one-room school building and the church.
The mission of the Promise Land Heritage Association is to preserve this historic community and contribute to the cultural enrichment of society.
